Download the Spatial App and create an account to interact with participants in the VX Lounge. Will I need a certain bandwidth or speed of internet connection to participate as a virtual participant? Yes, during the week of the Virtual Experience (23-27 September 2024), you’ll need a stable internet connection that can handle video calls. Ensure you have access to a reliable and fast connection. How do I interpret the event schedule—are the times in GMT, my local time zone, or a specific time zone (e.g., Eastern Time)?** The Gatherings app has the default timezone KST. After you have downloaded the Spatial App, you will find information on how to enter the VX lounge in the Lausanne Gatherings app -> access your dashboard -> go to program -> scroll down to find Congress VX Lounge and click the button -> enjoy discovering the interactive virtual congress space. How can I make the most of Congress VX this week? Attend the most convenient daily Congress VX plenary session (three times per day). Connect with your Collaborate Gap group daily on a Zoom call. Enter the VX Lounge to interact with other participants any time after it opens. Use the Lausanne Gatherings app to connect with other Lausanne participants, both on-site and Congress VX, from your country or region, from your Collaborate Gap, or from a specific organization. Will the app reflect my scheduled sessions once chosen, and can I use the app to manage my participation seamlessly? You will have access to all plenary session recordings as well as summaries from discussions on-site. You can continue to connect with other participants in the app Have the groups and times for each participant been finalized? How will I know which group I am assigned to and when my sessions are? Congress VX participants will engage the congress alongside onsite participants from Monday 23 September – Friday 27 September 2024. I am interested in attending Congress VX (Virtual Experience). How will virtual participants experience the congress? Congress VX participants will engage the congress programme online with added flexibility and have access to the year long pre-programme. VX participants will also have networking opportunities, collaborative workshops, and engagement tools that empower participants to actively participate, connect, and contribute to the global mission conversation. I have been selected for virtual, can I change to the onsite participation? On your RSVP form, you will be prompted with a question that asks if you would like to attend onsite should space become available and you are selected. If space becomes available and you are selected you will be notified of the opportunity to attend on site. All VX participants will have congress engagement as a virtual participant including the year-long pre-congress programme, special talks, concerts, and other engaging content exclusive to virtual participants. What is the Congress VX participant fee? The standard VX participation fee which includes daily sessions, engaging with thousands of global Christians, and much more is USD 300. However, we recognise that financial resources vary for participants and are offering reduced rates for those who would find the standard fee burdensome. These subsidised rates are made possible by the generosity of the global church. Are applications for Congress VX (Virtual Experience) still open? Congress VX (Virtual Experience) is still taking new registrations. Those who meet the participant selection criteria are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. What languages will the Congress VX accommodate? Provision will be made for English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, and Chinese speakers. Will I need a certain bandwidth or speed of internet connection to participate as a virtual participant? During the week of the Virtual Experience, 23-27 September 2024, Congress VX will require you to have internet connection capable of handling video calls. Please make sure you have access to a good internet connection. How much flexibility will virtual participants have in engaging the Congress VX? Will I need to be available during the full programme of the congress? VX participants will have 2 2-hour time blocks of synchronous online engagement during the week of the congress, 23-27 September 2024. During this time, VX participants will have the option to engage with others in a timezone convenient for them, as well as have 24-hour access to the VX Lounge. See schedule. How will Congress VX accommodate participants in different time zones? VX participants will be a number of time slots to engage and have the option to select the time slot most convenient to them. VX participants will engage in small groups online and be able to network with others through the event engagement app (coming soon), as well as the VX Lounge.
