Step 5
In this step of the journey, we will explore the importance of Christians in the workplace in light of their role in global mission.
‘And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.’ – Colossians 3:17
‘We urge local church leaders to understand the strategic impact of ministry in the workplace and to mobilise, equip and send out their church members as missionaries into the workplace, both in their own local communities and in countries that are closed to traditional forms of gospel witness.’ - The Cape Town Commitment

The State of the Great Commission brings together the best global data and key strategic thinkers to understand where the greatest gaps and opportunities are for the Great Commission’s fulfilment.
At different steps on our Journey to the Congress, we will be releasing sections of the State of the Great Commission Report for you to read and engage with. The report’s findings urge us to ask critical questions about the state of global mission and the future direction of our evangelical efforts
Looking forward to 2050, major economic and population demographic changes promise to shape global culture. The task set before us—to see the gospel proclaimed to the ends of the earth—is formidable. Human effort alone is insufficient. As we gear up for the Fourth Lausanne Congress this September, our deep dependence on the Holy Spirit becomes ever clearer. Our response is a dedicated six-month, 24/7 prayer initiative—with dedicated prayer guides and a live YouTube prayer room—in a concerted effort to seek the blessing and empowering of God for the monumental task ahead. This is an invitation to join a global prayer initiative, starting on the 22 March until the launch of the Congress on the 22 September, intentionally seeking the Spirit's enablement for a breakthrough in global mission in our lifetime.
This month we’d like to encourage you to pray in and for your workplace. Prayer walking in the workplace involves quietly praying on site, seeking God's peace and salvation for colleagues, clients, and for the organisation, while walking through office spaces and work areas.
Join us in praying for a country in Latin America. This prayer guide uses Lausanne’s fourfold vision for the church as a framework to invite guided prayer for specific areas of the world, church, and broader society.
